we went with Prince Consultants. Prince are London based and include John Faulkner, David Jackson and Cliff Robertson. This trio are the Men in Black of the conservation consultancy world, doing battle across the universe to find solutions for difficult heritage projects. Between them, these three gentlemen bring over 90 years of heritage and theatre experience to the campaign. John, David and Cliff have demonstrated that they have both an understanding of the importance of the historic fabric and nature of the building in both social and theatre history terms as well as recognising the importance of finding sensitive ways to resolve the obvious access issues (most importantly toilets, lift access and fire escapes). They may be a little silver on top, but what lies beneath is pure imagination, passion and vision. I wait with interest for the results. The work that Prince are currently compiling will be crucial to the future of Britannia Panopticon. Not only will their work provide us with a business plan which we hope will persuade the funding bodies to part with the relevant cash, but it will also identify the best way for us to operate the building for the benefit of the building, the public and the owners.

Business Plan
One thing that is progressing great guns though is the business plan. Earlier in the year the Britannia Panopticon Trustees combined forces with the Theatres Trust and Glasgow City Council to appoint a consultant for the purpose of carrying out a business plan to identify the best and most plausible options for our darling little auditorium on the Trongate. Several consultants tendered for the job, but only three auditioned. The decision was tough as each one had positive and imaginative things to offer, but finally,
