Merchant City Public Art Strategy Consultation Document  During the next phase of the Merchant City Action Plan it is proposed that a Public Art Strategy is developed and implemented for the Merchant City.  This will see the commissioning of temporary and permanent artworks in a variety of locations throughout the area.  The strategy will also encourage proposals to come forward from artists, individuals and groups who have creative ideas about enhancing the streetscapes and public spaces.  Public art is seen as an effective way to create a strong sense of individuality and identity in the Merchant City, to further put it on the map as the city’s ‘arts quarter’, and this strategy is an exciting development that we hope will bring new investment and interest to the area.    If you would like to comment on the proposed outline strategy you can download a copy of the consultation paper here and forward your comments to arts.development@csglasgow.org
