The Merchant City
Townscape Heritage Initiative is a partnership composed of the three
main players - the Heritage Lottery Fund who have established the THI
programmes throughout the UK, Glasgow City Council and Scottish
Enterprise Glasgow. The Council and Scottish Enterprise Glasgow have
committed annual funding for phase 2 of the THI over the years 2007 -
09, and the
HLF have committed to match this investment round for round.
The day to day running of the THI is undertaken by a staff of three - The THI office is based at
50 Bell Street in the heart of the
Merchant City. Decisions and approvals
on grants are made by the Executive Group which is comprised of members
from SE Glasgow and Glasgow City Council with Historic Scotland acting
in an advisory role. The Executive meets quarterly.
